Military Equipment Transportation

Scope

Our mission was to transport high-value, sensitive military machinery and equipment from Lusaka to the Central African Republic. The project required comprehensive planning, security measures, customs verification, vessel chartering, and inland transportation into a conflict zone.

Execution

We appointed a project team leader who conducted an initial site visit to assess the consignment. The plan involved chartering a vessel and organizing 30 trucks to move the entire consignment simultaneously. Security escorts were provided from Zambia to the port, and an independent cargo surveyor verified the condition of the goods at both the origin and the offloading port. The cargo was transported in five days to the port, loaded onto the vessel, and transhipped through two borders with military escort.

Result

The entire operation was successfully completed, delivering the goods ahead of schedule.

Manufacturing Plant Equipment Logistics

Scope

Our client tasked us with managing the logistics for constructing a manufacturing plant in Zambia, requiring the shipment of 56 containers and airfreight of 15 tons of equipment from China. We were responsible for coordinating with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery under tight deadlines.

Execution

We coordinated with Chinese suppliers, specifying the necessary export documentation. The urgent 15-ton consignment was airfreighted to Lusaka, while the 56 containers were shipped by sea. Our services included inland haulage to the port warehouse, exit customs clearance, port formalities, and pre-clearance arrangements. Upon arrival at the port of discharge, we handled port formalities, storage, and mobilized trucks from Dar es Salaam to Zambia, ensuring smooth import clearance through the Customs Authority.

Result

All equipment was successfully delivered within the required timeframe, ensuring the project's timely progression.

Mining Equipment Logistics

Scope

Freshlux Express Logistics was contracted to provide end-to-end logistics for transporting equipment and materials to support mining operations. Initially, our task was to move equipment from South Africa to Zambia. After timely delivery of the first consignment, we were further challenged to transport excavators and a lifting hook from South Africa, despite the hook exceeding the height of Zambia's electricity grid

Execution

To tackle this, we coordinated with power stations to temporarily disconnect electricity lines as the truck approached. We also arranged for an abnormal vehicle escort, adhering to Zambian regulations. Despite encountering various challenges, we successfully managed the logistics to ensure timely delivery of the equipment, crucial for the mining operation's timeline.

Result

The equipment was delivered on schedule, demonstrating our capability to handle complex logistics and overcome obstacles efficiently.

Chemical Distribution Logistics

Scope

A leading chemical company in Zambia appointed us to optimize their logistics from South Africa to Zambia. The task involved collecting consignments from over 15 different suppliers. To reduce costs, we recommended consolidating all products at a single warehouse, where we manage their stock and inventory.

Execution

We streamlined the process by having all suppliers deliver to our warehouse, enabling efficient stock management. We dispatch two super links weekly to ensure timely delivery of the time-sensitive products to Zambia. Additionally, we provide Goods Received Notes (GRN) and inventory reports, allowing the client to decide which products need dispatching.

Result

Our solution significantly reduced collection costs and ensured the timely delivery of chemical products, meeting the client's logistical needs efficiently.
